Pulled Pork

Like most recipes using the crock pot, your house will smell amazing for hours as you anxiously wait for this meal. Great for when having guests over for sports events. This recipe should provide 8 to 10 sandwiches.

2 - 4 pound pork butt

2 large onions cut into quarters

3/4 cup cider vinegar

5 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

2  1/2 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1/4 tsp ginger

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp paprika

1/2 tsp pepper

2 tsp crushed red pepper

Line the bottom of the crock pot with the quartered onions. In small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika and pepper and then rub the mixture onto the pork. You can use the original bowl to mix the cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, crushed red pepper, sugar, garlic salt, and cayenne pepper. Place the roast on the quartered onions and poor half of the vinegar mixture over the roast. Save the remaining vinegar mixture in the refrigerator and use as a sauce when preparing the sandwiches. Cook the roast on high for five to six hours. At this time I like the pull the pork apart and then cook on low for an additional two hours.
